If that opera thing didn’t work out…
Did you know today was Say unPC Things About Opera Day? No? Now you do.
Latonella started it way back in August last year, in her Ciro from Polonia post:
The formidable Ewa Podles looks like “an elderly Polish lady.” Haha! She so does.
I was ruthlessly inspired, so here we go:
Susan Graham = running your middle school’s carpool scheme and organising Soccer practice since 1996
Edita Gruberova = Auntie Ditta from Bratislava will teach you how to make belcanto-style preserves from the peach crop in her own orchard
Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, loved by many opera devoted ladies, looks to me like your surprisingly well intentioned car mechanic
Dorothea Roschmann = teaching middleschool German to exasperating pre teens (a few with secret crushes on her)
Sara Mingardo = that mild mannered Librarian in charge of the Italian Renaissance Poetry Section on your campus’ Main Library
Alex Esposito = wait, wasn’t that the footie coach?!

I am here for the “mild mannered Librarian in charge of the Italian Renaissance Poetry Section on your campus’ Main Library”. If only our library staff could measure up to that! (If only our main library had a section in Italian Renaissance Poetry beyond Macchiavelli!)
(okay, I may be on the wrong campus, period)
well, yea, that would be some Library 🙂 We had a very nice art section (well, because it was an art school) that was forever in disarray and a printing shop in the basement. Btw, your school does not have Ariosto?
Shockingly enough, it does not have a full post and office dedicated to Cinquecento literature! Can you believe it!
:-O
and you keep bringing books to the front just to hear her voice

you can also ask her to give you a comprehensive tour or pretend you really can’t find a book that should be in the stacks 😉
Where do I sign in to that school?
I think you and thadieu are already teaching at the school… I’ve already started working on my homework 😉
Good, keep it up!
I’m ready for my next lesson! Itching to spam the world with mezzo/contralto gifs 😉 I hope you two realise you are raising gif monsters.
you mean like this, for example?
Oh, too bad, it’s too large, will try to downsize, or email to you (something SP-related)
SP related = please do!
It’s too large, and I can’t get it smaller at the moment, seems I need yet more tutoring.
take your time! I’m curious now 🙂
It’s a bit silly actually, but here you are, the famous
Cesare breastplate fixing
😀 her hair!
hihihihi
Raising my hand for German lessons from Roschmann…
Forgot to add Gerhaher for that, though by looks alone he’s more akin to a Philosophy prof. (or at least my idea of one 😀 ).
Hehe, I had a German and philosophy teacher who looked a bit like him!
You forget I have a thing for sopranos in red dresses. 😉
hahaha this is really funny! Gruberova does look like an aunt who makes preserves!
😉
HAHAHA. Graham is SO a soccer mom with a rock star groupie history in an alternate life. Also, Kasarova reminds me of various Slav middle aged women I know, but I can’t come up with a character.
But, ASvO — an upper class Swedish housewife circa 1950s who sews her own floral dresses.
But, ASvO — an upper class Swedish housewife circa 1950s who sews her own floral dresses. 😀 her sense of style is way liberated.
Graham is SO a soccer mom with a rock star groupie history in an alternate life. I like that addition.
To me Kasarova looks like an outdoorsy type, like someone who has a vinyard in the countryside, but, yea, I can’t think of anything more specific than that.
