Venice! Vivaldi! Sonia Prina! – 13/15/17/19/21 April 2018. Tickets going on sale… nowish? Anyway, let’s make it a trip – if anyone has figured out how to book. My screen isn’t moving when I try to get info on tickets. I mean the end of June 2017 is now.

omg, i’m gonna alert Anik too… Iervolino singing Arsace in Semiramide there too!
That Semiramide should be great!! Jessica Pratt has an AMAZING voice (just heard her in Tancredi in Valencia), although she might be a bit cold/aloof for Semiramide, you need blood and passion there. Alex Esposito was fantastic as Assur in Munich. And I have high hopes for Iervolino. Rocha is Rocha, what can I say.
Giulia, are you still in Valencia for tonight’s performance? If yes, we could meet up. And yes, that Semiramide is extremely tempting! Jessica Pratt’s Amenaide is very strong indeed, great voice and vocal technique, but I also liked her acting approach.
Nope, alas, I came back on Sunday. I was at the premiere and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! I cried like a baby at the end. I am a big fan of Daniela Barcellona and I got to fan-girl in the backstage!
Whoa, great (the fangirling). I was in Sunday’s performance as well and yes, Daniela Barcellona was absolutely marvellous! (I was just about to write I am primarily here for her, but of course I’m primarily here for my work trip ;-)). I hope you are going to write a review on this?

I agree about Pratt, really good Rossinian, should be a bigger name than she is. Though I heard her at Wigmore Hall and she doesn’t do ppp 😉 Iervolino’s voice is buttah.
I’ll pay attention to her ppp, but I remember she was doing a very impressive crescendo on a single note on Sunday, can’t remember where, but it had a huge range of dynamics.
oh, in Rossini I bet she had 32487537 opportunities 😉 in one aria!

Try accessing the page with Internet Explorer (I know…). With IE, you can click and see the info on how to buy tickets. You still will not get any info on WHEN though. I browsed through the Italian site and got nothing. But I wouldn’t worry, I don’t think it will go sold out quickly.
IE! thanks for the tip. You can buy tickets by fax 😀 they do keep it old skool. I hope they don’t do something mad like Halle where you pay through your nose for shipping and handling if you don’t have an Italian address.

(i bought my Capuleti tix with Kasarova from Munich via fax 🙂 – though i think they had enough subsidy to ship transatlantic the 5 tix to me in trickling fashion all free!)
that probably makes it even more of a special memory 😀 fax! It would’ve been quaint if they shipped one ticket per week 😉
they did in 3 batches! because i had to “ask” for the tix separately ( each performance has its own opening date for returning email request) . then i faxed in my payment! and then tux arrived separately, was very exciting at that tome checking the real mailbox!
to think this was 2012… or was it the 2011 one? Do they still do this in Munich? I can’t quite remember what you did for JK 😉
2012! they still do this now i believe. for the jk show i was too late and ALL early tix were already been issued (you know those ladies lining up for him up front…) so i was fighting the internet system and his crazed fans… hence we ended up not optimal. if we ever do it again we would have to come in as pair and fight simultaneously 😉 . i thin Venice and Torino are a bit more chilled
definitely! Hope they’ll have something worth returning there for soon 🙂 with Venice/Torino is more a matter of dates coordination. I was so pleasantly impressed with the Teatro Regio style!
(and i havent had pizza since… still a bit dreamy with that contralto in the woods aria too)
well, this Venice thing is around the same time, so possibly we could hit two birds with the same Italian stone 😉

no, even more early. i think it s in may 2018. i think i recognized it after seeing a photo of Basso holding Mingardo… and found out which music they were singing in a performance way back.. i will find it
I’ll have to figure out the dates if travel is possible in that period when I’m home from, ehm, conference trip, and get back to you!
